Summer Hair Fix

This summer has been so stinking hot that the only refuge has been the swimming pool. The kids and I have spent more than our fair share of time there staying cool in the water. So what's the big deal?

My hair is A Mess. It is totally paying the price for all of the fun we have been having this summer. Too much sun and chlorine, not to mention the self-inflicting damage like daily blow drying and flat ironing, have left my hair dry, dull, coarse, frizzy, and all around blah looking. Kind of like these ladies:

Two candidates for this conditioner

I am a pretty natural girl when it comes to products in general, but sometimes the big guns must be called out when a problem arises. The timing was nearly perfect when I received a bottle of Dove damage therapy Daily Moisture Conditioner to give a whirl.

First things first, just by looking at the bottle it seems to be fit for the job. It boasts that it has a patented micro moisture serum and fiber actives. I am not sure what all that means but it sounds like it's exactly what I need to tame this crazy mane! (Really, I think that it is a fancy way to say that that this conditioner has a way to track down the damage and repair the surface of the hair by sealing the lifted cuticles. Kind of like a bottle full of mini-GPS's!)  Also, did you know that when your hair is damaged, it loses its natural moisture? That's what causes the straw-like feeling and overall unhealthy hair.

I was first worried that a conditioner that claims to be so thick and concentrated would end up weighing my fine hair down and have the possibility of leaving a greasy feeling. I was pleasantly surprised that the Dove Daily Moisture Conditioner did neither. It does feel thick when it comes out of the bottle, but it leaves my hair shiny, soft, and never greasy. There is a nice but subtle smell too, which is always a plus in my book.

Another great aspect about this product is that it not only repairs the damaged hair but that it also helps protect the hair from future damage and moisture loss.

Overall, Dove damage therapy Daily Moisture Conditioner left my hair healthy looking after a summer full of abuse. No more blah looking hair for me!
